Each week I will do an update. However, since there is only one I will keep all his updates on this page with each weeks photos.
Week 8 Update:
One day short of 8 weeks we took Jax to the vet for his final health check. He weighed in at 22 lbs 2 oz. He’s our biggest pup we’ve ever had. This week he got his microchip as well as another bath. As mentioned before he has continued to explore and enjoy the outside. We did discover he does get car sick. Hopefully that resides over time. Today he went to his forever home. We wish him the best as well as his family on their new journey together. His final photo is below.
8 Weeks Old
Week 7 Update:
This week he has been enjoying a lot more time outside. The cool weather has made it perfect for him to have fun exploring. He loves hanging out and lounging on Glacier. They are best buds. His coat is coming in thick. He weighs 19 lbs.
Week 6 Update:
This week was pretty much about him learning more and more how to play. He’s been playing with the adults all the time now. He’s learning how to jump over barriers as well. He is a barrel of energy. He has enjoyed his time outside as well. His weight 14 lbs.
5 1/2 Weeks
Week 5 Update:
This week puppy slimmed down and grew at a slower rate. He is now 10 lbs 2 oz. For food he is eating dry food without wetting it down. Occasionally he does nurse. He is running around the house. We have introduced him to the outside. He enjoys being with the adults, and especially bugging Glacier. Today he received his first bath. He enjoyed the water, but wasn’t too thrilled with the hair dryer. Also, today he officially met his puppy parents.
Week 4 Update:
This week is a big week. His playfulness has finally blossomed. His tail is now wagging quite often. His teeth are coming in more and more. He has now began eating food for the first time, rather than just drinking his mother’s milk. He has been allowed to periodically go around our downstairs and explore. Our other goldens have begun playing with. Alice loves to play with him. His weight for this week is 9 lbs 14 oz.
Week 3 Update:
This week our boy is mastering walking. We have introduced toys to him. His coat is getting thicker. We have been bringing him throughout our home and getting him used to being held and pet. He has of course gained weight. This week he weighs in at 8 lbs. His teeth just broke the skin around day 19. So next week will be a big week for him. This week we got him a couple litter mates for him to play with. Hope you have a happy Easter.
21 Days Old
Week 2 Update:
This week our boy’s eyes started appearing around day 10. Day 13 they were fully open. Day 14 we were finally sure he could hear. He has learned to howl. He is getting bigger as well, and starting to look cuter. His weight at 14 days is 5 lbs. It’s been a busy weekend. We’ve been at a dog show this weekend, so the update is a little late. Since our human baby is still young we thought we’d get a photo of them two of them together.
Week 1 Update:
Our big boy is getting huge. He’s a good 3 lbs 2 oz. He started out a rather large size, and has continued his momentum. Maybe it’s the luck of the Irish, or English. Since he is the only one, he is getting all the milk he wants. We’ve been going in there and holding him so he gets used to touch. His nose has turned black. Still has a little more color to go before it’s fully black. For the most part he’s been a quiet pup, except when startled.
