16 Jul 2 Comments timbearden Puppy

It’s been a long year and the wait is over. We did decide to breed Willow and Glacier. Willow started labor on the evening of July 16, with the first male born at 4:40 a.m. July 17. Second puppy was a girl born at 5:03 a.m. At 5:33 a.m. second female was born. A boy and girl followed when Jolene took over helping deliver the puppies.. Our girls love to deliver puppies in the wee hour of the morning. Unfortunately this as another small litter. Photos to come.

I will continually update this page as the weeks go on with photos and milestones.

Puppies should go home around September 11. Once they are born I will start contacting people on our waitlist.

One Week Update:

Puppies are now 1 week old. Their noses have turned black from pink. I did see one puppy begin to sit up on back paws. A little ahead of his time. They are beginning to howl, which can be heard in the video. I added a video here from Instagram. I also did a live video which is longer on Instagram that you have to follow me to see. I’ll try and get photos soon. I’ve been going to multiple doctors for my back, so it’s been busy.

10 Days Old:

Their eyes have officially started to open. Next couple days they should open fully. Their world will expand exponentially then.

Two Week Update:

The puppies eyes were open fully by day 12. One puppy also started to sit and hind legs, and walk on all fours on day 12. Day 13 the rest began walking, however very wobbly. Today, they have begun to hear. When one puppy howls, the rest begin to chime in. They are getting bigger.

Miss Yellow: 3 lbs 2 oz (biggest girl)

Miss Teal: 2 lbs 10 oz

Miss Pink: 2 lbs 10 oz

Mr. Blue: 3 lbs 4 oz (biggest boy)

Mr. White: 2lbs 14 oz

3 Week Update

The puppies are walking better and excelling at sitting up. They just started eating puppy food for the first time. They are playing with each other, learning to chew, lick, wag their tail, and have fun. All in spurts, as the majority of time is sleeping. Their claw nails are getting long, so they will be needing a trim soon.

Week 4 Update

This week the puppies transitioned from a mixture of wet and kibble, to kibble. They are drinking water, and growing. None of them stand out at this point. They are having fun playing with each other, and have had some time outside of their puppy room. They are also learning to walk on tile, rather than just the cloth flooring.

Miss Yellow 5 lbs 1 oz (Biggest Girl)

Miss Teal: 4 lbs 15 oz

Miss Pink 4 lbs 13 oz

Mr. Blue 5 lbs 6 oz

Mr. White 4 lbs 13 oz

Week 4 Update

This is probably one of the funnest weeks for me as a breeder. Their world finally opens up dramatically. Beginning of the week we expanded their play area to the entire puppy room. They were introduced with more toys, of which they do play with. For the last two days they have been able to roam around our downstairs. They even got play with their dad and Alice a little bit. Their world consisting of a 10 by 10 room (give or take a few feet), to now our home. Soon the world. Their experiences are opening up. Their personalities are beginning to show. For the most part though, no one really is a stand out. Which can be a good thing. They have had visitors this week, and soon will have more. Photos and weights to come.

Week 7 Update

It has been a very busy couple weeks. Jolene has been working a lot extra and studying for a test for work, Johanna is back in school, and Braeden’s constant attention has made it so my weekly updates are lacking. The puppies did get their week 6 vaccines last week. As well as their first full bath, and a jaunt outside. This week we will expose them more outside. They have all seen their future family members. Lots of a pee and poop to clean up all day long. They love to play with each other and toys. We are planning a big photo op on September 6, so stay tuned for that.

Miss Teal has now somehow passed everyone up. She weighs 10.9 lbs.

Miss Yellow in the middle at 10.2 lbs.

Miss Pink (wearing red collar) ended up our smallest at 9.3 lbs.

Mr. Blue ended up biggest boy barely at 10.3 lbs.

Mr. White (wearing black collar) at 10.2 lbs.
